According to our own experience, we can contemplate different types of designs ( to see some example click here ) that serve as inspiration and models to be applied at home.

In the world of interior design, we usually go to pre-established patterns that we like to incorporate into our home; Therefore, this time we are going to solve the following question: why do we usually repeat the decorative models that we already know?

We are continually influenced by the internet , social media, magazines, advertising, television, etc. There, all kinds of examples appear on how to furnish the house, what ornaments we can apply, what colors we need and how we can organize the spaces.

Throughout the years, we are receiving information on the different styles of decoration; therefore, it is not surprising that we imitate the interiors that, in one way or another, we already know. The experience remains permanently present in our memory.

Why don't we usually innovate?

The concept of innovation has not been learned by society, but why is this? There is a risk factor that, deep down, we don't like to run; for this reason, we decided to stick with those decorative models that we already know.

Professionals are the ones who try to find new formulas that dynamize and change the aesthetics of the interiors; however, people who do not have an interior design training do not have the qualities to guarantee success in a new design.

We could say that, generally, we lower ourselves to manners and conservative ideas ; that is to say, that everything that we already know serves as the basis for, later, decorating the home. This is probably due to a sense of personal comfort and conformity.

What we already know gives us some security; therefore, do not take risks.

We like pre-existing models

We have been able to point out how on a social level there is no risk in decorating homes. Nor is it a matter of criticizing this aspect as if it were a mistake, but original ideas remain along the way and other aesthetic horizons are not opened where styles can be combined .

The decorative models that we already know can also be attractive. Interest arises in trying to apply an image that we already know. Let's see, then, some answers around this question:

  1. The living rooms tend to have patterns that are repeated in homes : a sofa in the center looking at the TV cabinet, a central table, a large rug, etc. Actually, this arrangement provides a nice balance.

  2. Classic and modern bedrooms increasingly resort to the bed as the main axis attached to the wall by the headboard. Around it are a bedside table or two, a wardrobe, a mirror, and perhaps some other ornament. The decoration is quite refined.

  3. What about the kitchen and bathroom? This is where functionality plays a very important role . Nobody wants to risk in the disposition of elements that are not useful or go unnoticed. It is usually used, normally, those that really offer practicality. The entrance has always been the preamble to what can be found in the rest of the house. This idea is often liked and, as a general rule, you do not want to turn this space into a different place with new functions.

The ideal house model

We usually imagine that the ideal house is made up of those resources that we like and that make up an interesting space. The decorative styles that have already been worked on are available to everyone; therefore, they are a source of inspiration.

There is no doubt that, today, we have the necessary means to know everything that has been done in interior design . Many designers have left a truly interesting legacy that can serve as a model to apply in our home.

For this reason, why should we try to find other decorative formulas when we can repeat a design that already exists and that we like ? We all may have identified with this question at one time or another.

Personal safety is essential

It is important to feel safe with the choice we make. If we are satisfied, then there is no turning the page and no apparent reason to change your mind. The goal is that we get a happy home .

The mere fact that we are comfortable with the decoration is a fundamental step. This is how happiness is achieved ; If for this we have to repeat decorative models that we already know, then there is no room for debate.
